2-year-old girl hit and killed by driver in Monsey

A two-year-old girl was killed on Monday when she was hit by a minivan.

The toddler is the fifth child in Rockland County to be fatally struck by a driver since the beginning of 2024.

Ramapo Police told News 12 the accident happened on Calvert Drive shortly after 3 p.m. Monday.

The child was struck by the driver of a 2014 Honda Odyssey minivan and taken to Nyack Hospital, where he later died.

Police say the driver of the minivan is a 21-year-old from Monsey and was not injured in the crash. They say the driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators. No charges have been filed at this time. The accident remains under investigation.
