Former RG Kar director Sandip Ghosh remanded in custody until September 23

Former principal of RG Kar Medical College and Hospital Sandip Ghosh was remanded in judicial custody till September 23 by a special CBI court on Tuesday, September 10, in the financial irregularities case.

The court also remanded his security guard Afsar Ali and two alleged accomplices, contractors Biplab Sinha and Suman Hazra, in judicial custody until September 23.

The CBI informed the court that it would seek his detention again if required.

Ghosh was arrested by the CBI on September 2 on charges of financial irregularities during protests against the rape and murder of the doctor at RG Kar MCH.

On September 3, the court sent him to CBI custody for eight days.
