Faulconbridge News: Two boys found dead at home in New South Wales' Blue Mountains, mother arrested

A woman was arrested after two boys were found dead in a house in Faulconbridgelocated in NSW's Blue MountainsAustralia. The boys, Russell and Ben, aged nine and eleven, were discovered by their father shortly before 12:40 p.m. on the day of the incident.

Smith was taken to Westmead Hospital in a stable condition and under police guard and has since been arrested.
The police have not yet been able to identify the murder weapon and did not want to comment on the cause of the boys' deaths.
Authorities confirmed they are not looking for anyone else and there is no ongoing threat to the community.
The nearby Springwood High School was affected by the emergency measures because its oval was used as a helipad for medical evacuations.
Superintendent John Nelson said Smith was known to police only for minor incidents. “It's early days, but we can say there is no indication that we have any prior history in this matter,” he told a news conference.
The homicide squad is currently investigating. Officers are talking to neighbors and trying to understand the circumstances of the tragedy.
The boys’ father is also supporting the investigation.
New South Wales Police Commissioner Karen Webb described the incident as “tragic” and said that even after years of experience, “things like this still cut deep into the soul”.
