Woman stabbed on SEPTA train, man injured while trying to break up fight: police

PHILADELPHIA – SEPTA police are investigating a fight that escalated into a stabbing on the Broad Street Line Monday morning.

The incident occurred around 8:30 a.m. on a northbound train near Girard Station.

According to preliminary police information, there was an argument between two women that quickly escalated into a fight.

During the fight, one of the women is said to have stabbed the other in the back.

A man who tried to break up the fight suffered a cut on his arm.

The condition of the injured is currently unknown.

According to initial reports, the woman fled the scene with the knife.

This is an ongoing investigation.
