Jestetten: What a show! 50 children outdo themselves in the Circus Stella

Jestetten: What a show! 50 children outdo themselves in the Circus Stella

More than 700 visitors came to the two performances of the Circus Stella on the Vreneleswiese between the town hall and the secondary school at the weekend. And in this, the 30th year, the children and young people offered a colorful fireworks display with breathtaking performances.

The weather gods were very kind to the 50 participants, who had rehearsed a complete circus program during the week. In the best weather conditions, the children were able to practice under blue skies and at pleasant temperatures and immerse themselves in the strange world of variety shows. Under the guidance of circus educator Hans-Jürgen Blickle, alias Hagi, and his team, including many former circus children who, as young adults, were now able to pass on their experiences to the next generation, they learned how to surpass oneself through joy.

“It's a lot of fun working with the children,” said Anna Körner, a team member who used to take part herself. She also noticed that the children are influenced by social media to the extent that applying make-up wasn't quite so easy. “Today's children all want to look perfect and of course that doesn't fit with the pointed, exaggerated make-up at the circus,” Anna Körner continued.

Circus Stella is an institution in Jestetten. For a week at the end of the summer holidays, there is not only a circus program, but also an attractive offer for adults with the folding chair cinema. This year the French comedy “It's the little things” was shown. There was also a performance for the little ones with “Tack and Ticki” and their program “Everything in a suitcase”.

The supporting program also contributes to the success of Circus Stella. There is a wide variety of gastronomic options, from creamed sliced meat with spaetzle to popcorn. Here it is primarily the parents who are called upon, because without their help the concept would not work. The parents are also responsible for setting up and dismantling the circus tent.

The circus program guarantees numerous highlights again this year. Particularly worthy of mention is the fire magic with numerous bombastic effects – although the fire-eating was the most harmless.

The enthusiasm of the audience was only surpassed by the enthusiasm of the children taking part. And what more can you expect from a children's summer holiday program than happy children?
