Severe head-on crash on B45: Two seriously injured!

Gross-Umstadt/Heubach – Head-on collision! On Monday afternoon, a head-on collision occurred on the B45 near Groß-Umstadt (South Hesse) a serious traffic accident in which two women were seriously injured.

According to police reports, two cars collided head-on at the turnoff to Heubach at around 4:30 p.m. yesterday, Monday.

According to initial findings, a 63-year-old driver from Groß-Umstadt wanted to turn left towards Heubach and failed to see the oncoming vehicle of a 74-year-old woman from Groß-Umstadt who was travelling towards Dieburg.

Both drivers were seriously injured in the collision and had to be taken to nearby hospitals by ambulance.

A passenger was also slightly injured and was released after an on-site examination. Both vehicles were written off as a total write-off, and the police estimated the material damage at around 40,000 euros.

The federal highway was completely closed for about an hour to allow accident investigation, rescue work and road cleaning. The closure remained in place for another hour in the direction of Dieburg.
