Woman stabbed and killed overnight in north Phoenix

PHOENIX (AZFamily) – A woman is dead and a man is in police custody after a stabbing in north Phoenix overnight.

Phoenix police said officers rushed to a parking lot near a Home Depot store on the corner of Cave Creek and Cactus Road around midnight and found a woman who had been stabbed to death.

The woman was taken to hospital for her injuries but later died there.

A man fled the scene after the stabbing, police said, but was later arrested. His identity has not yet been determined.

Detectives remain on site to investigate the incident.
