Harassed: Day laborer arrested for disturbing abuse case at school |

Noida: A daily wage labourer who allegedly raped a six-year-old student on the campus of a private School last Tuesday was arrested on Saturday evening after being on the run for four days.
Kala Thakur, alias Amir, was found in his hideout in Shimla Park in Sector 13 after police scanned images from around 1,000 CCTV cameras. Thakur, originally from Firozabad, was living in a rented house in Chaura village in Sector 24.
“We formed three teams to win the daily bet on who was the main suspicious“As he was working on a contract basis, no one had his real address, not even the recruitment agent who had hired him. We went through footage from 1,000 CCTV cameras and arrested him from Shimla Park in Sector 13 on Saturday night,” a police official said.
While searching for Thakur, police arrested the junior wing principal, the superintendent, a teacher and the project contractor for allegedly allowing the daily wage labourer to escape despite knowing about the crime.
On Tuesday last week, Thakur reportedly found the Girl outside the classroom and took her to a secluded area of campus that he apparently knew was not captured by security cameras. He allegedly touched the girl inappropriately for nearly five minutes.
The girl, who had recently learned about “good” and “bad” touching at school, told her teacher, who then informed the headmistress.
According to the girl's father, the school administration called him and claimed that they had submitted the day's report to the Sector 24 police station. But when her parents asked about it at the police station, the police officers there claimed that they had no knowledge of the case and that no one from the school had contacted them.
The girl's parents accused the school administration of misleading them and trying to cover up the attack to protect the school's reputation.
“There are suspicions that the school administration tried to cover up the incident to avoid damage to its reputation,” a senior official said.
After the girl's father lodged a complaint, a case was registered against the main suspect, the school's principal, supervisor, teacher and employment agent under sections 263 (resisting or obstructing lawful apprehension of another person) and 74 (assault or use of criminal force on a woman with intent to outrage her modesty) of the BNS and corresponding provisions of the Pocso Act. “Along with the daily wage labourer, the four were arrested on Thursday,” he said.
