Seven people were injured this morning in a traffic accident in Wörgl in Tyrol. A car and a truck collided on a bend.

A head-on collision between a car and a truck left seven people injured on Monday morning on the Brixentalstrasse (B170) in Wörgl in Tyrol (Kufstein district). According to the police, the 49-year-old stateless driver of the car was driving straight ahead in a right-hand bend in the direction of Kirchbichl and collided with the oncoming truck. All four occupants of the car and all three people in the heavy vehicle were injured in the accident.

One injured trapped after crash in Wörgl

One of the passengers in the car, a 29-year-old Syrian, had to be freed from the vehicle by the Bruckhäusl fire department using rescue shears. He was eventually flown to the Innsbruck hospital by rescue helicopter, the police informed. The other six injured people were taken to Kufstein hospital by ambulance. The vehicles were seriously damaged. The Brixentalstrasse was completely closed for around an hour.
