A second person was arrested in connection with a chase and a nearly day-long manhunt after he apparently shot at a deputy, the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office said.

According to a press release from the sheriff's office, she was arrested on these charges on Friday.

Pierce identified herself as the wife of Randy Harris, 44, who was arrested after reportedly firing at officers during a chase. The pursuit began when he failed to stop when an officer attempted to pull him over on a warrant late on the evening of Aug. 29.

At the time, he had a female passenger in the car, officials reported.

After Harris stopped his car near his home on Hixson Avenue and got out to flee on foot, officers found Pierce inside his home. According to an officer's report, she told them she was the passenger in the car.

When officers reviewed dashboard camera video of the chase, they saw a hand and arm sticking out the passenger window, followed by the sound of a gunshot and several muzzle flashes, the report said.

Officials allege Pierce intentionally shot the officer from a moving vehicle in a residential neighborhood.

According to jail records, she is being held in the Hamilton County Jail on $100,000 bail.
