Worldwide search for man who deliberately scalded a baby with hot coffee in the park

Australian police are searching for a man who poured hot coffee on a baby in a Brisbane park and then fled. He is believed to have left Australia, which is why authorities are now searching for him internationally.

Australian police have requested international assistance in the search for a 33-year-old man who deliberately scalded a nine-month-old baby with boiling hot coffee in a Brisbane park.

It took several days for authorities to identify the man using CCTV footage, but it has now emerged that the suspect fled Australia six days after the incident and 12 hours before his identity was known to police. Queensland authorities have issued an arrest warrant.

Family picnic in the park

The act shocked the nation: On August 27, a stranger approached a family who were having a picnic in a park in the south of Brisbane. He poured liquid from a thermos flask onto the nine-month-old baby and ran away.

The baby suffered burns to his face and arms and was given first aid by a nurse who was present before being taken to hospital. The boy had to undergo several operations. His family told the media that the incident had traumatized them and that they were heartbroken.

According to a police spokesman, the attacker is believed to have acted deliberately and without provocation. The man is a casual worker who has reported war at two different addresses in Australia. The man faces a charge of grievous bodily harm. (Red)
