Miami Dolphins: First win of the season after liability drama

Hours before Tyreek Hill delivered a crucial touchdown for the Miami Dolphins, the wide receiver still had hands on his wrists.

For Tyreek Hill, star receiver of the Miami Dolphins, the day of the NFL game against the Jacksonville Jaguars could not have been more turbulent. After a retention scandal, a decisive touchdown, and the first win of the season, the 30-year-old will probably remember this day for a long time to come.

Led away in handcuffs

Hill was actually only on his way to the stadium before the match when the drama began. The American was apparently involved in a traffic incident and was stopped by the police and taken away in handcuffs. Teammate Calais Campbell was also handcuffed when he tried to help. The whole incident can be seen on a video that is currently going viral on the social media platform X.

After the arrest comes the dream touchdown

But the evening ultimately took a positive turn. The Dolphins, fourteen points behind the Jaguars, caught up with an 80-yard touchdown by Hills. The man who had been arrested earlier celebrated with a celebratory gesture in which a teammate put imaginary handcuffs on him. Miami finally won 20:17 – and its first victory of the season!

That wasn't the only thing that Hill was happy about. That same evening, one of the officers who had been involved in the arrest was relieved of duty. “That tells you everything you need to know,” the wide receiver explained. “I wasn't disrespectful, that's not how my mother raised me. I didn't swear, none of that. Like I said, I'm still trying to understand that.”
