Sexual abuse: Father arrested for sexually abusing minor daughters | Mumbai News

Mumbai: An 18-year-old girl told a Non-governmental organization that she and her sister from their Father when they were minors, after which the father was tracked down and arrested by the police. The girl made these revelations recently while speaking to members of an NGO at a government-run home where she was placed after being sexually abused by another man in 2016. Further police investigations are ongoing.
According to police, NGO members regularly visited the home to talk to victims of sexual abuse and offer them support. The girl opened up during a conversation and told a member that her father had sexually abused her between 2011 and 2016 when he lived in a housing colony in South Mumbai. She also revealed that her father had sexually abused her sister when she was a minor. Her sister had confided in her when the two met.
Following these revelations, the NGO reported the case to the Child Welfare Committee (CWC). The CWC requested the police to conduct an investigation and trace the accused. Within 24 hours, the police traced the accused to a forest area where he was staying.
He was handed over to a police station in south Mumbai, where the crime took place eight years ago.
