“I felt at home”

The tragic death of Vikas Sethi has left the entire entertainment industry in a state of shock and despair. The actor, who was known for his performances in projects like Kabhie Khushi Kabhi Ghum, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi and others, died due to cardiac arrest, the news of which surfaced online on September 8. Vikas' performance as Robbie in Kabhie Khushi Kabhi Ghum is widely remembered.

The actor had earlier spoken about his experience of working with Kareena Kapoor Khan and Hrithik Roshan in one of his interviews and revealed how much the entire team praised him after he got his first break. In an interview, Vikas had said, “Even though I was new, Kareena made me feel at home and comfortable. I still remember my first break at Filmmalaya Studio. They all clapped and applauded after I got my first break.” The actor had also called the film very special and stated that it will always be close to his heart.

For those unaware, the role was previously offered to John Abraham, but the actor had turned it down. Speaking on Koffee With Karan, John mentioned that Karan kept asking him to play the role, but he turned it down. John said, “I said, 'Karan, I don't mind, I really don't want to do it.'”

Vikas' last rites were performed in Mumbai today. His wife told PTI that just before his death, Vikas was restless, vomiting continuously and also suffering from diarrhoea. However, he refused to go to the doctor. The same night, he suffered a cardiac arrest and died in his sleep.
