While the 49ers are certainly the favorites in this game, all eyes will be on Rodgers when he returns to California. The former Green Bay Packer generated a lot of hype in the Big Apple when he joined the Jets, but all that was gone after he tore his Achilles tendon after just four snaps in the 2023 season. After that, it was the same old Jets. Terrible offensive play coupled with a number of issues on defense and the team finished 7-10 and third in the AFC East. While Rodgers' return doesn't necessarily make this team a favorite for the Super Bowl, they hope they can stay in the race for the playoffs.

San Francisco came within one point of winning the big game last year, but obvious confusion caused the team to lose to the Kansas City Chiefs in overtime in the Super Bowl, angering many fans despite another great run. The Niners made it to the NFC Championship game for the third year in a row and won the NFC West with relative ease. With most of the team returning in 2024, many expect the 49ers to be back in the championship race.

This will be the 15th meeting between the two teams. San Francisco has an 11-3 record against the Jets, including a win in their last meeting four seasons ago.
