Two motorcyclists die in traffic accident in Cumilla

CUMILLA, September 9, 2024 (BSS) – Two motorcyclists were killed last night when they were hit by a covered van in the Yasin Market area of ​​Cumilla Export Processing Zone (EPZ) in Upazila Sadar.

The deceased were identified as Hasan Miah, 24, son of Majnu Miah, a resident of Narunda area of ​​Tangail district, and Masum Hossain, 29, son of Humayun Hossain, a resident of Banishanta area of ​​Khulna district. They were workers of Cumilla EPZ.

The accident occurred in the area when they were returning home after completing their duties around 9 p.m. Both died at the scene, said Kabir Hossain, in-charge of EPZ police outpost.

Police recovered the bodies from the crime scene and shifted them to the Cumilla Medical College and Hospital mortuary for autopsy, the police official added.
