Kareena Kapoor Khan will be seen in the upcoming crime thriller The Buckingham Murders. She plays British-Indian detective Jasmeet Bhamra, who has to deal with the tragic death of her own child. Hansal Mehta is the director of the film. The film follows Jasmeet, who investigates the death of a 10-year-old child in Buckinghamshire. She is still struggling with her loss, so the case is a challenging one for her.

Plot and cast

The Buckingham Murders tackles themes of trauma, the immigration experience and the impact of the crime on the community as Jasmeet investigates the case. The murder stirs emotions and leads to violence, especially after a Muslim child is arrested in connection with the crime. Keith Allen portrays Miller as a key figure in the investigation. On 14 October 2023, The Buckingham Murders opened the 67th BFI London Film Festival, while on 27 October 2023, it opened the Mumbai Film Festival 2023. The film is scheduled to release on 13 September 2024. This film marks Kareena Kapoor Khan's production debut, which makes it significant. She co-produced the film under the banners of Mahana Films and Balaji Motion Pictures along with Ekta and Shobha Kapoor. Aseem Arrora, Kashyap Kapoor and Raghav Raj Kakker wrote the screenplay.
