National Law University Odisha lecturer from Bengal found dead in Cuttack CDA

Markatnagar police on Monday began investigation after the body of a lecturer of National Law University, Odisha (NLUO) was found from her rented accommodation in CDA area in Cuttack. The deceased was identified as Ananya Chakraborty, a native of West Bengal.

Ananya's body was recovered from her rented house in CDA Sector 9. According to sources, the room was locked and had to be broken open. For the last two years, Ananya was working at NLUO in Cuttack's Naraj.

She has been unable to attend her college for the last two days. It was only when Ananya did not respond to repeated calls that the NLUO officials alerted the police, who then arrived at the spot.

According to sources, Ananya was going through a rough patch in her personal life as far as her marriage was concerned. She and her husband had decided to stay apart after getting divorced about three months ago.

The police have sent the body to SCB Cuttack for autopsy and informed the family of the deceased about the incident.

Further details are not expected to emerge until senior police officials reveal details surrounding the incident.
