After the knife attack in Upper Austria, the murder weapon has now been located. The victim was seriously injured.

On Saturday evening, September 7th, at around 8:15 p.m., a 55-year-old Ukrainian attacked his 46-year-old compatriot with a knife and seriously injured him. The incident occurred at the Ansfelden-Süd rest stop in Linz-Land. A witness photographed the altercation – which helped to clearly identify the 55-year-old as the suspect. As the police announced on Monday, the murder weapon, a kitchen knife, has now been secured. The reason for the argument is still unknown, but the two were obviously drunk. “After the initial interviews and investigations, the reasons for the argument and the cause of the injuries differed from the actual ones,” said the Upper Austria State Police Directorate. When the investigations are complete, the knife attacker will be taken to prison.
