Assault: Man stripped and assaulted in Bengaluru for misbehaving with woman | Bengaluru News

BENGALURU: A 33-year-old man was attacked by a group by nearly a dozen people after he allegedly misbehaved with a Woman by inappropriately touching her in Kalkere village, near Bannerghatta Road, on Saturday evening.
It was not until late Sunday evening that the woman reported the incident to the police.
The injured man – Ravi Kumar from Dharwad – has been working as a cook in a hotel near Kalkere for the past few years. Following the complaint filed by Kumar, Bannerghatta police have arrested three people.
Citing preliminary investigations, police said the woman, in her late 20s, was on her way to a shop to buy milk around 10pm when Kumar spotted her walking alone and touched her inappropriately. When she raised the alarm, a group of men loitering nearby heard her screams and arrested Kumar.
When they started attacking him, the woman left the place. The group tore off his dhoti and beat him on his thighs and other parts of his body, thinking that he had come to sexually abuse them. attack the woman.
As the attackers were taking the injured man away from the spot in an autorickshaw, the Bannerghatta police, who came to know about the incident, rushed to the spot and rescued him. He was taken to a nearby private hospital from where he was discharged on Sunday evening.
Bengaluru district police commissioner CK Baba said: “We have arrested three attackers and are trying to catch the others.”
Another senior police official said, “The group has been booked for assault, false imprisonment and intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). We tried to reach the woman but she refused to file a complaint. The attackers have no connection with the woman. Both the attackers and the victim were drunk.”
The accused said Kumar tried to drag the woman into a corner to sexually assault her.
Kumar had visited a liquor store and was very drunk. He was misbehave with the woman, said the senior police officer.
