Delivery boy and friends attack security guard

The incident was reported at around 11.30 am on Saturday at Puneville Housing Society in Ravte's Punawale. The accused were identified as Maruti Varade, Kedar Bansode, Gopal Borawade, Priyaksingh Tomar, Razak Khan, Sunil Gavali and Sunil Bodhane. Two minors were arrested and 10-12 accomplices were booked.

According to police, security guard Mohammad Sheikh asked Varade, who was transporting groceries, to use the freight elevator instead of the passenger elevator. After a heated argument, Varade left the compound and returned with 15 to 20 friends.

Rahul Khile, Sub-Inspector of Police, said: “The accused beat the security guard with sticks and inflicted injuries that required six stitches.”

Supervisor Prabhakar Pande and area supervisor Dyndev Bhogil, who tried to intervene, were also physically attacked.

Ravet police station has filed a case under sections 109, 115(2), 352, 351(2), 189(2), 189(4), 191(2) and 191(3) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
