Sheriff's Office: Malta woman arrested for injuring a person with a deadly weapon

The Saratoga County Sheriff's Office arrested Carmela M. DiCicco, 43, of Malta on Friday for assault and illegal possession of a firearm.

Officials said they responded to a call at 1:34 p.m. on Friday that a fight was in progress in Malta.

The investigation led to the arrest of DeCicco, who is charged with intentionally inflicting bodily injury on another person by using a deadly weapon or dangerous object, the sheriff's office said.

According to authorities, she is also accused of possessing the weapon with the intent to use it against someone else.

DeCiccio was charged with second-degree assault and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon.

She was arraigned before the Court of the City of Malta and released on bail pending further proceedings in the case.
