Both teams are trying to improve in the difficult 2023 seasons.

While it wasn't a disappointment overall, the Saints were right in the thick of the playoff race. However, inconsistency on both sides led to the team finishing second in the NFC South and losing the division title to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers again on a tiebreaker. With the division wide open for the 2024 season, it's hard not to see New Orleans in the race for the South's championship again. If Derek Carr stays healthy and the defense improves, they'll once again be in contention for the postseason.

The same cannot be said for the Panthers. They are coming off a miserable 2023 season that saw the team finish last in the NFL with a 2-15 record. Bryce Young's rookie season was marked by the expected difficulties, and for many on the team, the rough year was a good time to adjust to the pace of the league. While Carolina is not necessarily expecting to make the playoffs, many are hoping the team will improve significantly in 2024.

This will be the 60th meeting between the two teams. The Saints lead the standings 31-28. New Orleans won both games in 2023.

MY CHOICE: Saints win, 24-14
