Teenager (17) seriously injured after knife attack

A 16-year-old boy grabs a knife in Babenhausen and seriously injures his friend. The perpetrator is arrested but later caught.

Babenhausen – On Saturday evening, September 7, an altercation occurred between two young people aged 16 and 17 in the area of ​​Platanenallee and Bürgermeister-Rühl-Straße in Babenhausen (Darmstadt-Dieburg district).

According to the police's findings so far, the meeting between the two young people began in a friendly manner, but escalated into an argument at around 8:30 p.m. During the argument, the 16-year-olds are said to have stabbed the 17-year-old in the back. He then fled the scene.

According to the police report, the 16-year-old stated that he had thrown away the murder weapon, presumably a knife, during his escape. A search that was subsequently initiated has so far been unsuccessful. The 17-year-old suffered serious but not life-threatening injuries and was taken to hospital after receiving emergency medical treatment.

The fugitive 16-year-old was arrested as part of a manhunt. The mayor of Babenhausen, Dominik Stadler, personally assessed the situation and found out about the incident on site. (csa/pm)
