Ambulance called as Coronation Street legend slips to death in sad video | Soaps

Paul Foreman (Peter Ash) and his family face tragic scenes as his condition worsens in a new Coronation Street video.

Paul has been living with motor neurone disease for over a year and his condition has deteriorated significantly during this time.

Last Christmas he was given only six months to live and his family is aware that the situation could worsen at any time.

It seems that this is exactly what happens in the following scenes, where Paul struggles to breathe while his mother Bernie Winter (Jane Hazlegrove) comforts him.

Meanwhile, Summer Spellman (Harriet Bibby) takes over the task of calling an ambulance and the crew announces that it will be there in 15 minutes – time that Bernie says they may not have.

In the midst of the commotion, Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) arrives and wonders aloud where Billy Mayhew (Daniel Brocklebank) is.

After going out for drinks with David Platt (Jack P. Shepherd) the night before, Billy came home a little shaken and it wasn't until he woke up the next morning with a hangover that he noticed his phone was missing.

Summer quickly explains to Kit that he went to look for his phone and that they don't know how to reach him, but they hope he comes back soon.

Actor Daniel Brocklebank revealed to Metro.co.uk that Billy's worst nightmare would be not being there for Paul's final moments.

“He promised Paul that he would be there in his final moments. Even though everyone had told him: 'Go have a drink.'”

“It's not just the fact that he wouldn't be there in the end, but also that he would have spent Paul's last night on earth drunk in a bar somewhere, when he could have been at home snuggled up to him, falling asleep next to him, waking up next to him and all the other things in between.”

Will Billy return in time for Paul's final moments?
