Germany vs Hungary: Live stream, match times thread, how to watch

One hour left until kick-off: The line-up is set! Julian Nagelsmann has a normal 4-2-3-1 with two defensive midfielders and Niklas Füllkrug up front. Kai Havertz is finally no longer playing as a striker, but will probably play in rotation with Florian Wirtz and Jamal Musiala. For ter Stegen, it will also be the first game as the new German number 1.

It's crazy how every year football comes back for a few weeks and then immediately there's an international break that ruins everything. Who made that schedule?

Anyway, we're back to Germany coverage once again, and once again it's a match between Germany and Hungary. These guys seem to play the Germans practically every year – the only changes this time are:

  • All veterans of the 2014 World Cup have completed their international matches.
  • This line-up of the German national team includes the fewest players from FC Bayern Munich.

Still, the club is fairly well represented, with Julian Nagelsmann being a former Bayern coach and Joshua Kimmich wearing the captain's armband. But with players like Florian Wirtz slowly stepping into the spotlight (and Kai Havertz refusing to give it up…), it will be a very different Germany to what people are used to. For better or worse, it's time for a new era.
