Mark Keller in the past: The “Bergdoktor” star has changed so much

What not all fans of the series know is that Mark Keller grew up in prison and would probably never have become an actor without his mother. To this day, however, the “Bergdokor” star raves about his childhood behind bars and would not want to miss it.

His mother died when Mark Keller was just five or six months old. He grew up with his grandmother and his five siblings in Überlingen on Lake Constance. Despite this, his mother encouraged him to become an actor. She always wanted to work in film herself. It was clear to him that he wanted to live her dream. After training as a car mechanic, Mark Keller began studying at the Freiburg drama school.

At the end of the 1990s, he celebrated his breakthrough as Inspector Andre Fux in the successful RTL series “Alarm für Cobra 11 – Die Autobahnpolizei”. After his time in the TV series, Keller tried his hand at the big screen a few times. At the beginning of the 2000s, he played in the German action thriller “I love you Baby” alongside Jasmin Gerat and in “Barfuß” together with Til Schweiger.

However, Mark Keller's best known and most popular role is probably in the ZDF series “Der Bergdoktor”. Here he has played the role of chief physician Dr. Alexander Kahnweiler for almost 17 years.

For Mark Keller, his two sons, who are now grown up, are just as important as acting and music. Joshua (28) and Aaron (31) have revealed a very close relationship with their father – the three are “inseparable”, as Mark Keller himself likes to say. They have also sung together on Stefan Mross' successful show “Immer wieder sonntags”. On Instagram and TikTok, the trio reaches numerous followers as “Los Kelleros”.
