Oliver Welke: ZDF presenter reports back – suspicion immediately confirmed

The temperatures are slowly getting colder again, summer is coming to an end – and with it the summer break of the “heute show” is also coming to an end. On Friday evening (September 6th) presenter Oliver Welke returned to ZDF.

Before the show, it was assumed that fans of the “heute show” had been eagerly awaiting its return. This suspicion was confirmed just a few hours after the broadcast. Oliver Welke once again brought ZDF very strong numbers.

To kick off after the summer break, the satirical show with presenter Oliver Welke first discussed the past election Sunday, the consequences for the traffic light coalition and the migration policy in Solingen.

And as usual, Welke was able to score points with the viewers with his show. The “heute show” achieved the second highest reach of the day after the ARD Tagesschau. The late-night show was watched by an average of 0.58 million people aged 14 to 49. This gave ZDF a strong audience share of 18.3 percent. The total audience reached 2.85 million viewers. The satirical news show thus confirmed its success from before the summer break.

The “ZDF Magazin Royale” was not quite as successful this time. Jan Böhmermann's satirical show was watched after the “heute show” by only 1.11 million viewers. This meant that the market share of the total audience was 10.1 percent and of the younger audience 12.8 percent. This meant that Böhmermann's audience lost some ground compared to prescribed programs.
