Driver in critical condition after accident

A car driver was critically injured in an accident on state road 2242 near Effeltrich (Forchheim district). His 21-year-old passenger was slightly injured, police reported. The 27-year-old drove off the road on a bend in the early morning and landed on his roof in the woods. The cause of the accident is still unclear.

The 21-year-old freed herself from the car, the 27-year-old was trapped. Rescue workers cut him out of the damaged car. The police launched an investigation into endangering road traffic as a result of alcohol.
