Davenport man arrested for alleged sexual abuse of child

Daryl Lee Guinn, 53, is charged in Scott County District Court with three counts of second-degree sexual abuse.

Each of the charges is a Class B felony under Iowa law, punishable by 25 years in prison.

According to affidavits filed by Davenport Police Detective Maureen Hammes, Guinn committed sexual acts with a child under the age of 12. The acts occurred between 2019 and 2021.

Guinn was arrested on Thursday.

At an initial appearance on the charges Friday in Scott County District Court, Judge Stephen Wing scheduled a preliminary hearing in the case for September 13.

Guinn was being held in the Scott County Jail Saturday morning. Bail was set by Wing at $150,000 cash.
