Bantwal, September 7: In a tragic car accident, a newly married woman was killed and her husband sustained critical injuries after their car lost control and jumped the guard rail at Talapady on the Mangaluru-Bengaluru road on Saturday, September 7.

Manasa, the deceased, was the wife of Aneesh Krishna, a resident of Odyadagaya near Perne. Aneesh Krishna, who was seriously injured in the accident, has been admitted to a private hospital in Mangaluru.

The couple was travelling towards Mangaluru from BC Road when their Alto car veered off to the other side of the road after the driver lost control and collided with a KSRTC bus travelling towards BC Road from Mangaluru.

The force of the impact caused severe damage to the car and the woman died at the scene. Traffic on the road was closed for some time.

The couple had married at Denthadka Temple on September 5. They were on their way back to Aneesh's in-laws' house after visiting the temple to clear their debts. Both of them reportedly worked in a private company in Mangaluru.
