50 calls in one night due to arguments, fights and noise

During the night from Friday to Saturday, officers from the Police Grand-Ducale had to respond to around 50 cases of disputes, fights and night-time noise, according to a press release. In the majority of cases, the situation had to be resolved on site.

Among other things, officers were called to a fight between several people on the Grand-Rue in the upper town on Friday evening. A police patrol encountered two victims on the scene who were being attacked with pepper spray by two other men. The perpetrators fled. The police accompanied one of the two victims to the hospital for a check-up, and investigations have been launched into the fugitives.

The following night, a police patrol had to go to Place Paris, where an intoxicated man was walking on the tram tracks. Because he posed a “danger to himself and others” in his condition, the officers took him into custody after a medical examination.
