Knife attack in front of brothel in Rostock

Knife attack in front of brothel in Rostock

The police in Rostock have launched extensive investigations following a serious knife attack outside a brothel in the early hours of Saturday morning. A man was seriously injured with multiple knife wounds and the suspected perpetrator is said to have been arrested. The police do not want to release any information even hours after the crime.

Three stab wounds in the stomach

According to internal details, the incident occurred at around 4:30 a.m. in front of an establishment in the eastern old town of Rostock. Apparently there had been loud arguments in and outside the brothel on Hartenstraße between several people. Some residents claim to have heard that the overwhelming majority did not speak German, but rather Arabic and Russian.

The attack suddenly occurred at the entrance to the house next to the brothel. The perpetrator then stabbed the victim several times with a knife on the sidewalk, who then collapsed covered in blood. The man apparently lost a lot of blood, and traces of blood were found on several parked cars, on the sidewalk and on the front door of the house.

Eyewitnesses reported that several people then ran back to the establishment and banged on the door. The brothel owner then called an ambulance and the police. The victim is said to have received three stab wounds in the stomach and side and was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

The police remain silent

According to several eyewitnesses to the crime, the suspect attempted to flee the scene. However, he was detained and handed over to the officers who rushed to the scene, who then arrested him. He is now in police custody. No information is yet available on the identity of the suspected knife attacker. All of the altercations are also said to have taken place under the influence of alcohol.

The police then cordoned off the crime scene and detectives immediately began their investigations. The police are currently keeping quiet about everything. The new police chief Björn Nebel was also unwilling to give out information about the initial facts. “All of this is still the subject of ongoing investigations,” he said. Officers are expected to provide (initial) information over the course of the day.
