Simon Biles has 'lots' of Bears gear after Packers criticism

Simone Biles separates herself from the old and lives from the new.

The seven-time Olympic gold medalist confirmed that there is no longer any Packers clothing in her closet. Instead, Bears gear has been incorporated into her wardrobe to support her husband, Chicago safety Jonathan Owens.

Owens, who spent just one season with the Packers after four seasons with the Texans, signed a two-year contract with the Bears in the offseason.

Biles had previously been criticized by Chicago fans after wearing a jacket that featured black-and-white photos of Owens in the Packers outfit and some Green Bay Packers logos during the Bears' preseason game against the Bengals on August 17.

Although Biles did not defend herself against the critics at the time, she did post on social media.

“I want to clap back soooo much, but I have to stay as classy as possible,” Biles shared on Threads at the time.

However, Bears fans no longer have to fear that their loyalties lie elsewhere.

“Yes, I have enough [of Bears gear] now,” Biles said as she left the Global Summit on Women's Mental Health on Thursday, TMZ reported. “So don't worry, guys!”

Biles' first chance – if she competes – to wear some of this new gear in the regular season will come Sunday when the Bears host the Titans.

This will be Owens' sixth NFL season with his fourth team since signing with the Cardinals as an undrafted free agent in 2018.

He was released before the start of the season due to an injury and spent the year on the injured list.

In 2019, he signed a contract to join the Texans' practice squad before playing four seasons in Houston.

The safety recorded one sack, one forced fumble, 84 tackles and one fumble recovery for a touchdown for the Packers last season.

The pair had an eventful offseason, with Owens adjusting to his new team and Biles returning to the Olympics after withdrawing from the Tokyo 2021 Games due to serious illness.

Biles, 27, left Paris with three gold medals – in the women's individual all-around, women's vault and team all-around – as well as a silver medal in the floor exercise final.

In total, she now has eleven Olympic medals and has not yet decided on a return to the 2028 Games in Los Angeles.
