Packers-Eagles: Inactive players: RB MarShawn Lloyd sits, TE Tucker Kraft will play

The Green Bay Packers' list of ineligible players for their first game of 2024 has been released. After three players were listed as questionable in the last injury report of the week on Thursday, only one player is now ineligible due to injury.

That inactive player is rookie running back MarShawn Lloyd, who will not play tonight as he continues to recover from hamstring injuries. Fellow running back Emanuel Wilson, however, will be active, as will tight end Tucker Kraft after the two players with questionable designations joined Lloyd.

Wilson's availability will be important, as he should serve as the primary backup to starter Josh Jacobs. Wilson showed a more well-rounded skill set in this year's preseason than he did as a rookie in 2023, though that initial preseason performance earned him a spot on the 53-man roster for last season's starting lineup. This year, he has been more active in the passing game, both as a blocker and receiver. Expect him to play at least a complementary role with Jacobs on offense, though Jacobs will likely have a heavy workload tonight.

The Packers have signed another running back, Ellis Merriweather, from the practice squad for tonight's game, and he will be active to give the team three running backs with Lloyd out.

The availability of Wilson and Kraft will be crucial for the Packers tonight, however, as it gives them two key offensive players to attack the Philadelphia Eagles defense with. Kraft in particular was a key weapon in the second half of last season as both a run blocker and receiver, taking control of the in-line tight end position when Luke Musgrave was out. The two second-year pros will share duties tonight, giving the Packers every opportunity to come out on top despite trailing by a narrow 2.5 points.

The Eagles, the Packers' opponents in Friday's game in Brazil, have already lost two players for tonight's game: cornerback Isaiah Rodgers and linebacker Devin White. The rest of Philadelphia's roster is healthy, however, and the remaining absentees are of the healthy variety.
