Lake Charles man charged with raping victim under 13

LAKE CHARLES, Louisiana (KPLC) – The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office said a Lake Charles man was arrested after being accused of raping and sexually assaulting a girl under the age of 13.

Spokeswoman Kayla Vincent said officers were dispatched to a home in Lake Charles on Sept. 5 after receiving a report of a missing teenager.

During their investigation, officers found the girl and learned that a family member, 32-year-old Andrew A. Taraba, may have sexually abused her.

The MPs said they had spoken to Taraba, who admitted this.

Taraba was arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center for first-degree rape of a victim under 13 and sexual assault of a victim under 13.

Judge Kendrick Guidry set his bail at $800,000.
