Trump's new defense against E. Jean Carroll is that he attacked other women

Trump described the interaction quite differently: “She said I was on a commercial flight with her in 1979 and … we became very close,” the former president said.

While telling the story, Trump interrupted himself and said, “I was famous then, too. I've been famous for a long time,” without any context. Later, Trump tried to return to this point, dismissing The claims state: “It's funny how when you're rich and famous, a lot of people make up a lot of stories.” Taken together, Trump's remarks sounded eerily similar to his infamous Access Hollywood tape, in which he claimed that “when you're a star, they let you” touch your genitals.

While explaining the allegedly “completely made-up story,” Trump insisted that he did not know exactly when their interaction took place, pointing out that it probably happened “a long time ago,” in 1979.
