Mangaluru: Progressive farmer killed in scooter-truck accident

Mangalore, September 6: In a tragic accident involving a truck and a scooter, Chandrahass Shetty (67), a resident of Kallekaruguttu, Paivalike, Manjeshwar, was killed near Manglanti Mosque in Manjanady on the evening of September 5.

Chandrahass Shetty, a progressive farmer, was on his way to Kallekaruguttu from his wife's house in Harekal Debbeli when the truck collided head-on with his scooter.

Shetty, who is known for his active involvement in social activities and religious services, died at the accident spot due to the heavy impact of the collision. The truck, which was reportedly travelling at high speed from Nettipadu to Natekal, caused the fatal accident.

The Mangaluru South Traffic Police has registered a case and is investigating the incident.
