Dr Farooq Abdullah welcomes BJP leader Shahzad Ahmed Khan to NC

Srinagar, Sep 6: Jammu and Kashmir National Conference President Dr Farooq Abdullah on Friday welcomed senior BJP politician and Pahari chairman of Chittak Poonch Shahzad Ahmed Khan along with dozens of his associates and several sarpanchs in the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC).

The group also met with Omar Abdullah and both the leaders extended a warm welcome to them. Dr Farooq Abdullah and Omar Abdullah expressed their hope that the accession would contribute to the welfare of the people of Jammu and Kashmir and strengthen the leadership and presence of the National Conference in the region. Later, Dr. Farooq visited the grieving family of Farooq Ahmad Shah, the National Conference candidate from Tangmarg, following the tragic death of his nephew Haziq Hilal of Hardushora Tangmarg in a road accident.

Dr. Farooq Abdullah expressed his deep sorrow and regret over the untimely loss of Haziq Hilal and prayed for peace for his departed soul. He also conveyed his heartfelt condolences to Haziq Hilal's parents during this difficult time.

He was accompanied by Deputy General Secretary Dr. Mustafa Kamal and Khwaja Mohammad Yaqoob Wani from Sangrama and representatives of the local National Conference who were also present to express their support and condolences to the family. (KNS)
