3 dead, 2 injured in electric shock in Naga City

CITY OF LEGAZPI — Three construction workers died while two others were injured in an electrocution in Naga City, Camarines Sur on Friday afternoon.

Naga City police identified the fatalities as Amador, 27, Juan, 40, and JR, 30. They reside in Camarines Norte and Camarines Sur.

According to initial investigations, construction workers were installing the steel pole of a solar-powered street light when they accidentally touched the live power line in Barangay (village) Bagumbayan Sur at 1:55 p.m.

Amador, Juan and JR were taken to a hospital where they were pronounced dead on arrival. Two other workers, Anton (24) and Jose (36), were still in critical condition.

The investigation is ongoing.
