Telangana man dies after deadly cobra stunt for social media video

Hyderabad: In a tragic incident, a young man was killed in Kamareddy district on Friday while attempting a dangerous stunt with a “cobra” for a social media post.

Shiva Rajulu, a 23-year-old man from Desaipet village in Banswada district, held a full-grown cobra in his mouth in an attempt to attract the attention of netizens, which led to his death.

According to media reports, Shiva's father Gangaram, who is a snake catcher by profession, caught a cobra, gave it to his son and asked him to make a video for social media.

Shiva, who had also learned how to handle snakes from his father, took his father's request a little too seriously and caught the snake in his mouth in order to extract its eyeballs.

The young man stood upright and bravely for several minutes and then, as he lost consciousness, realized that he had been bitten by the poisonous snake.

He was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was declared brought dead. The body was later shifted to a hospital in Banswada area for postmortem.
