In tiptoe drama at the start of the season: Taylor Swift celebrates with her boyfriend

The Kansas City Chiefs started the NFL season with a win and made a statement right away. The Super Bowl winners of the last two years won 27:20 against the highly rated Baltimore Ravens. The Chiefs, led by quarterback Patrick Mahomes, want to be the first football team in history to win the Super Bowl three times in a row. In the end, they won because a Ravens player landed on the sideline with the tip of his toe as the clock ran out and his catch did not count as a touchdown.

“It was nerve-wracking. “It's a great football team, and coming away with a win here is a great way to start the season,” said Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes. “There's a lot we need to get better at, but it's a good start.”

The Ravens were the first to take the lead in the party, which was delayed by 20 minutes due to a heavy thunderstorm. Lamar Jackson led his offense with determination, but the moderators were not disturbed by this and also equalized with the first attack series. Much to the delight of pop superstar Taylor Swift, who, as so often last season, was back in the stadium cheering on her boyfriend Travis Kelce. The Chiefs pro had an unremarkable game and ended up catching three passes for 34 yards. Mahomes had one touchdown pass and threw for 291 yards.

Jackson also had a strong 273 yards and a touchdown pass. With seconds left, the Ravens had three great opportunities to tie the game, but were unable to score any more points. In the end, a foot from Isaiah Likely on the sideline was decisive and prevented another Ravens touchdown.

Man of the evening in the rematch of last season's conference finals was young NFL rookie Xavier Worthy, who scored two touchdowns for the Chiefs in his first game in the National Football League. After the equalizer in the first quarter, he was also responsible for the touchdown in the final quarter that restored the Chiefs' ten-point lead after Jackson had brought the Ravens within 17:20.
