Actor Nivin Pauly did not visit the Dubai hotel mentioned in the sexual assault complaint in 2023, police confirm

Kochi: The sexual assault complaint against Malayalam actor Nivin Pauly is a mystery as the police have reportedly found discrepancies in the statement of the complainant woman. The investigation team reportedly confirmed that Nivin was not staying in the hotel mentioned by the complainant after 2021. The police also collected evidence proving the actor's presence in Kochi on the day of the alleged sexual assault in Dubai.

According to the complaint, Nivin and five others drugged and raped the woman in a hotel in Dubai in November and December 2023. However, the police are said to have received information that the complainant did not visit Dubai during the period of November and December. To confirm this, the police will examine the travel documents of the complainant. Details will also be sought from the hotel authorities.

Nivin Pauly denied the allegations against him and filed a complaint with DGP S Darvesh Sahib demanding an investigation.

The Oonukal police in Kochi arrested the actor and five others after receiving a complaint from a 40-year-old woman. Nivin Pauly is named as the sixth accused while producer AK Sunil is the second accused. A woman named Shreya is listed as the first accused. Binu, Basheer and Kuttan are the other accused. The police have filed charges against the accused including rape, sexual assault, trespassing and criminal intimidation.
