Manipur's Bishnupur district hit by new bomb attack, drones sighted

Imphal, Sept 6: Suspected militants carried out a bomb attack in Bishnupur district on Friday morning, damaging two buildings, according to police. Rockets fired from the hilly areas of Churachandpur district targeted Tronglaobi, 45 km from Imphal, with a range of over 3 km. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.

A community hall and a vacant room were damaged in the attack. Security forces retaliated after suspected militants fired shots towards Bishnupur district. On Thursday evening, several drones were spotted hovering low over Kumbi village near Tronglaobi, heightening tensions among locals.

The incidents have raised concerns about an escalation of violence in the region, but authorities continue to strive to maintain law and order.
