New bomb attack in Bishnupur, Manipur, no injuries

Imphal: Suspected militants carried out a fresh bomb attack in Manipur's Bishnupur district on Friday morning, damaging at least two buildings, police said.

Rockets were fired from elevated positions in the nearby hill regions of Churachandpur district at the low-lying residential area of ​​Tronglaobi, about 45 km from the state capital Imphal. The range of the rockets was estimated at more than 3 km, police said.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported in the attack. However, a community hall and an empty room were damaged in the bombing, police added.

In addition, the suspected militants fired several shots towards Bishnupur district, prompting security forces to retaliate.

Tensions rose on Thursday evening in the village of Kumbi, a few kilometres from Tronglaobi, after several drones were spotted hovering less than 100 metres above the ground, witnesses said.
