Wiltshire Police said a fight broke out between two groups of teenagers on New Road in the town on June 3.

One of them – a 16-year-old boy – suffered a stab wound to the back that required seven stitches.

Two other teenagers, a 16-year-old and a 17-year-old, both from Royal Wootton Bassett, have already pleaded guilty to the same three offences.

The 17-year-old from Swindon remains in custody and the 16-year-old and 17-year-old from Royal Wootton Bassett have been released on bail.

The verdict for all three is scheduled for September 18.

Det Con Chris Hemns of Wiltshire Police said: “There must be no place for such incidents in Wiltshire.”

“The impact of knife crime on our communities cannot be underestimated and it is a priority for police to target those who carry knives.
