Donald Trump's youngest son enrolls at New York University

NEW YORK — Barron Trump, the youngest son of former President Donald Trump, began his first year of college at New York University this week, his father said Wednesday.

Trump announced his decision in a video interview with the Daily Mail, confirming months of rumors that his son would attend the university's Stern School of Business, one of the country's top business schools.

“He's a very gifted kid, but he's not a kid anymore,” Trump said. “He's just moved beyond being a kid into something. He's doing great.”

Barron Trump, 18, Graduation in May from Oxbridge Academy, an exclusive private school in West Palm Beach. As a freshman at NYU, he will take classes a few miles from his childhood home in Trump Tower, where his father still lives.

It was not immediately clear whether he would live on campus or at home. An NYU spokesperson did not respond to an emailed inquiry about enrollment.

The Stern campus is located in a busy area of downtown Manhattan, across from the famous Washington Square Park. The business school's square was briefly occupied by pro-Palestinian protesters last spring before police arrived and made arrests. Given the possibility of renewed protests, the university has introduced additional security measures for the start of the fall semester.

Three of Trump's four children – Ivanka Trump, Tiffany Trump and Donald Trump Jr. – have studied at the University of Pennsylvania, which the former president also attended. Trump, who attended the university's Wharton Business School, said his youngest son considered the program but decided against it.

“I went to Wharton, and that was definitely one we considered. We didn't do that,” Trump told the Daily Mail. “We went to Stern.”
