BUFFALO, NY (WKBW) — A Buffalo man accused of sexually assaulting a woman is now facing charges in connection with another crime that allegedly occurred several weeks before the reported assault.

Lamont Love, 34, was charged with burglary and criminal damage on Tuesday.

According to prosecutors, Love broke into a home in Buffalo's Parkside neighborhood in the early morning hours of February 23, 2024. The victim called police and reported the break-in after noticing that the window screen and kitchen countertop were damaged. Officers found a pair of shoes and a cellphone.

Love is also accused of sexually assaulting a woman in Shoshone Park on March 3. Prosecutors say Love was riding his bicycle when he approached and attacked the victim. He allegedly forced the victim to have sexual contact through coercion. Police say the victim was able to escape and report the incident.

Love is scheduled to appear in court again on both cases on September 27.

Temporary protection orders were issued on behalf of both victims.
