Listed criminal accidentally shoots friend in Kolar

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): A suspected criminal accidentally shot his friend in the leg in Kolar on Thursday morning. Police said the victim has been admitted to hospital and is out of danger.

He himself told police that the shot was fired accidentally, they said. Sanjay Soni of Kolar police station said the incident occurred when the victim, Altaf Ali, 20, a school bus driver, was riding his bike to his friend's house on Thursday morning.

TI Soni, however, said that there were some discrepancies between the statements of the victim and the accused. Soni said Ali told them that when he reached the house of his friend Raj Singh Rajput, he showed him a pistol and pointed it at him in a joking manner.

As he was putting it in his pocket, a shot accidentally went off from the pistol and hit his leg. After police arrested Rajput, who faces three cases, he said he spotted Ali and was riding his bike parallel to his.

Two other persons were riding on the motorcycle with Rajput and one of them shot Ali in the leg. Further investigation was underway in the matter after which an FIR would be filed against Rajput.
