Sultanpur Encounter Akhilesh Yadav claims robbery accused Mangesh was shot dead because of his caste links with BJP

News from Akhilesh Yadav: Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav has questioned the police encounter of Mangesh Yadav, who was accused of being involved in a robbery in Sultanpur. The SP leader termed the encounter as fake, saying Mangesh was killed because of his caste and his links with the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party.

Akhilesh Yadav wrote on X: “It seems that the ruling party had links with the people involved in the Sultanpur robbery. Therefore, the 'main accused' was contacted before the fake encounter and forced to surrender. Other accused were shot only in the legs and the killing was done on the basis of 'caste'.”

On August 28, Bharat Jewellers in Sultanpur was robbed for Rs 1.5 crore. Police had arrested three accused while Mangesh Yadav, an absconder with a reward of Rs 100,000, was killed in an encounter with police on Thursday morning. The encounter took place on Kotwali Dehat Hanumangunj bypass road.

Akhilesh Yadav further said, “If the main accused surrenders, all the looted goods must also be returned in full and the government must pay compensation. It takes a long time to recover from the mental trauma caused by such incidents. They lead to business losses for which the government has to pay compensation.”

The SP leader said the solution to crime is not fake encounters but real law and order. “The BJP rule has been a golden age for criminals. Unless the pressure and anger of the people reach their peak, the distribution of loot will continue. When it seems that people are getting agitated, a show is staged by staging fake encounters. People understand everything,” he said.
